Pitney Bowes Standardized Event Codes

Pitney Bowes provides a set of standardized event codes that apply to all carriers. The following is a subset of the codes. For a complete list, see PB Standardized Tracking Event Codes on the PB BOXdocs website.

In the Tracking API, the standardized code is returned in the l1Code field in the response. The Tracking API does not return the event description.

In the Webhook Service payload, the standardized code is returned in the StandardizedEventCode field. The standardized description is returned in the StandardizedEventDescription field.

PB Expedited Event Codes

The table below lists USPS event codes and descriptions and their corresponding Pitney Bowes Standardized Event Codes. The column headers specify the corresponding fields in the Tracking API. The API returns the USPS event code in the scanType field; the USPS event description in the l1Description field; and the PB standardized code in the l1Code field.

Note

The l1Code field returns a Pitney Bowes value, while the l1Description field returns a USPS value.

The Webhook Service returns the USPS code in the eventCode field; the USPS description in the eventDescription field; the PB standardized code in the StandardizedEventCode field; and the PB standardized description in the StandardizedEventDescription field.
