As of January 21, 2024: Parcel Select Lightweight Service Removed in PB Delivery

  • As of January 21, 2024: Parcel Select Lightweight Service was removed in PB Delivery and replaced with Parcel Select service.

Important

As of January 21, 2024: the Parcel Select Lightweight service is no longer available with PB Delivery. The Shipping API will print a Parcel Select label for packages under 1lb to replace Parcel Select Lightweight. More information can be found on BOXdocs.

1. PB has introduced an update for separate environment signups. This change applies to both new and existing users to enhance security and streamline account management.

  • New users: Must sign up independently on both the Sandbox and Production environments with the same email address to generate unique credentials for testing and live production environments.

  • Existing users: Need to reclaim their Sandbox account by using the “Forgot Password” option with their registered email address, if they face access issues. Production login credentials and access to production keys will remain unchanged.

  1. PB has discontinued support for multiple active credentials (client ID and client secret). If user regenerate credentials, only the latest credentials will be valid. Previous credentials will no longer work.

  • PB introduced new USPS Ground Advantage services. After 2023-09-30th, you must use the UGA service or your service will fail. PB Expedited Service IDs has changed. FCM, PRCLSEL, and STDPOST have been deprecated for Ground Advantage. FCM and PRCLSEL have been deprecated for Ground Advantage Return. The new ID is UGA.

  • As of July 9, 2023, PB requires PB Expedited and PB Delivery and PB Returns to use HAZMAT_TYPE input parameters to specifiy the type of hazardous meaterials in the shipment.

  • CBDS marketplace shippers must pass seller information when creating an outbound shipment. The marketplace shipper passes the seller ID through the new SELLER_ID shipment option and passes the seller’s address through the additionalAddresses array.

A marketplace shipper is a shipper who uses the same SHIPPER_ID for all sellers and who gives each seller a unique seller ID that is shared with Pitney Bowes.

  • PB Delivery and PB Returns: Enabled all partners with 2D IMpb barcodes on labels to improve scanning rate.

  • PB Returns and PB Delivery: Added two additional fields for the Parcel Tracking Number to the Shipment Options. see Shipment Options.

  • CBDS shippers can have multiple delivery solutions. When creating a shipment, a shipper chooses which solution to use for that shipment. The shipper specifies the solution through the new DELIVERY_SOLUTION shipment option.

  • CBDS shippers can print Container Labels for the shipment of containerized parcels to CBDS Hubs.
