Workflow for Shipping a Pitney Bowes Parcel through the APIs

The following is the suggested sequence of API operations for shipping a Pitney Bowes parcel:

	API Operation	Description
	Generate OAuth Token	Generate an OAuth token every 8 hours or if it has expired. Tokens last 10 hours.
	Validate Address	Validate the parcel’s destination address.
	Rate Parcel	Rate the parcel before you print the delivery label.
	Create Shipment	Print the delivery label.
	Create Manifest	Create a SCAN form for PB Expedited parcels or a close out for PB Standard parcels.
	Create Container Label	If containerizing PB Standard parcels, print the container label.
	Track Package	Track the parcel.
	Reports	Retrieve all transactions associated with the parcel.
