Delivery to the Consolidation Center

Overview

To ship with CBDS through the Ecommerce APIs, a merchant chooses one of two delivery solutions, either PB End-to-End or Client Drop-Off. Within the delivery solution, the merchant chooses a first-mile option that determines how parcels are delivered to the CBDS Consolidation Center. All parcels shipping with CBDS stop at a Consolidation Center for customs processing and labeling before they are sent to their international destinations.

This page describes the delivery solutions and their first-mile options. A merchant chooses a delivery solution and first-mile option during onboarding with CBDS. Merchants can test first-mile options in Sandbox using the Sandbox Client IDs listed on this page.

PB End-to-End Solution

The PB End-to-End Solution is available for U.S. Outbound only. In this solution, Pitney Bowes is responsible for the end-to-end journey of the parcel. Pitney Bowes offers Bulk Pickup and Piece-Level Shipment as the first-mile options. In both cases, the Create Shipment API prints the first-mile label.
